The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an international humanitarian movement with approximately 97 million volunteers, members and staff worldwide which was founded to protect human life and health, to ensure respect for all human beings, and to prevent and alleviate human suffering, without any discrimination based on nationality, race, sex, religious beliefs, class or political opinions. Working with a team of designers for a poster campaign, the “Find the Volunteer Inside You” campaign needed a book of guidelines to hand out to agencies worldwide to accompany the poster set allowing the posters to be edited into endless amounts of dialect.

Working with a team of designers, The poster campaign is a worldwide attempt to interest people into volunteering their services and time to benefit the organization goals.  The statement “Find the Volunteer Inside You” is a call to arms or the warm-hearted to help with the humanitarian effort globally by volunteering locally. The standards manual cover uses the same theme as the campaign posters, and the manual itself uses the a minimal type and color treatment to allow for an easy transfer of information.

Strong bold letters and a bright red background use the established colors of the foundation to draw the viewer’s attention to the call to action. Multiple version of the poster in different languages sets the stage for the posters to be distributed worldwide. While the original posters are designed in French, Arabic, English, and Spanish. An editable file is sent areas which speak these languages along with the standards manual to allow the poster to be edited into any language. The 24-page booklet is a simple design with a wealth of content for allowing bilingual branches of the organization to edit the posters while keeping the appearance consistent.
